IAC Rally Update
Ghodi Bacheda is one of the villages that have been severely affected by unplanned land acquisition policy of the Uttar Pradesh government. In 2008 alone, nearly six people were killed due to police firing over land acquisition issue. Like Ghodi Bacheda, many villages in UP have faced the ire of different governments. Acres of fertile land are being acquired in the name of development. Unfortunately, these are those lands which yield 2-3 crops a year. Villagers in Bisrakh, Dojana, and Chaugaonpur had also similar tales to narrate.
When Gram Sanvaad Yatra led by Manish Sisodia reached the villages today for creating awareness about the July 25th fast, people felt that if a strong Lokayukta would have been in place such illegal acquiring of land would not have happened. Irrespective of which government is in power the plight of the farmers remained the same. Villagers informed that the Government is in process of launching projects for Lion/Night Safari in UP. Ironically, for this also large scale acquisition of highly fertile land is being planned.
In Delhi, a big public meeting was held in Nangloi area which was addressed by Arvind Kejriwal, Gopal Rai and Sanjay Singh. Nangloi is an area which is mostly populated by lower middle class people.  More than 2500 people were present in the rally, which witnessed participation from women and youth in large numbers.
The final phase of the Gram Sanvaad yatra would start from 11 July. The rallies of Dhaulana, Dasna, Satnavat, Badoda, and Hapur would be covered during the final leg of the yatra. In Delhi, two rallies would be held tomorrow at Pochanpur Village (Dwarka Sector 23) and Tilak Nagar. The details of the same are as under:
  1. Pochanpur Village: Shyam Baba Mandir, Village Pochanpur, Dwarka sector 23, Nearest Metro Dwarka sector 21
